       Child with learning disability shows difficulty with cognitive skills.Typically cognitive skills helps to participate  &  complete the task. Cognitive skill is mental process and learning style.It includes Attention,Memory, language processing & arithmetic processing.

They are crucial component in learning process.When cognitive skills are not well develop it will lead difficulty in completing a task due to easily getting distracted or boredom. Such can hamper the progress in studies and community living skills in children . 

Usually child get cognitively exhausted by engaging in thinking games,outdoor play, challenging task,excessive screen time,illness,chronic medication,stress ,anxiety,prolong task performances and so on these should not be of any concern unless they impact child's daily routine activities. 

Intrinsic motivation & enviornment plays role in shaping and extending the child's cognitive development.

  Struggling learners tend to have a pattern of real strengths and weaknesses in their underlying skills, causing them to over-rely on their strengths.  Learning means acquiring information Ability means physical and mental potentiality to do Disability means problem in physical and mental ability.   O ccupational therapy ASSIST/SUPPORT patient/client to learn or improve skills needed to perform an occupation. An Occupation could include any thing from brushing teeth ,making bed,bathing toileting , going to office ,school related tasks . Occupational therapist works with all types of age group that is children ,adult and elderly population. Occupational therapist first completes an evaluation of task or Occupation to develop impression of impeding problem.After identifying the problem OT starts with specific treatment for the problem taking client from being unable to able.  Problem in performing any occupation/task could be cause either by sensory issue,motor difficulty,perception ,cognition and so on.
