SITTING POSTURE & FUNCTION-GENERAL

Components and sub components of  upper body in siting position

SITTING POSTURE IS GROSS MOTOR SKILL

Ingredients of siting posture-

  1. head control
  2. Proximal stability
  3. hand function
  4. trunk control

HEAD CONTROL-

reflex integration (physical development -creeping ,crawling so on)

vision normal

visual function efficiently

ear normal

hearing function efficiently

PROXIMAL STABILITY-

shoulder range of motion (helps in reaching forward / backward)

shoulder strength (pushups ,retracting object from overhead)

dissociation ( wrist and hand dissociation allows writing smoothly)

TRUNK CONTROL -

spine (sitting erecting,bending twisting movements)

core muscles strength (siting erect in chair)

movement to sides and bending ( when siting in chair  picking up an object bending sideways )

HAND FUNCTION-

grasp (Holding ball)

grip ( opening closing a clip)

in hand manipulation ( handling too many coins in a hand)

BILATERAL INTEGRATION -

(eg.catching ball & stabilizing with one hand while other hand is into writing)

POMODORO TECHNIQUE

The Pomodoro Technique! The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s. The technique is named after a kitchen timer shaped like a tomato (Pomodoro in Italian) that Cirillo used as a university student. Here's a step-by-step guide to the Pomodoro Technique: The Basic Steps 1. *Choose a Task*: Select a task you want to work on. 2. *Set the Timer*: Set a timer for 25 minutes (or another length of time that works for you). 3. *Work on the Task*: Focus exclusively on the task at hand without interruptions or breaks. 4. *Take a Break*: When the timer goes off, take a 5-minute break. 5. *Repeat the Cycle*: After four "Pomodoros" (25-minute work sessions), take a longer break of 15-30 minutes. Benefits of the Pomodoro Technique 1. *Improved Focus*: By dedicating a set time to a task, you can eliminate distractions and stay focused. 2. *Increased Productivity*: By working in focused intervals, you can complete tasks more efficient...

BRIEF ABOUT LEARNING DISABILITY

Struggling learners tend to have a pattern of real strengths and weaknesses in their underlying skills, causing them to over-rely on their strengths.  Learning means acquiring information Ability means physical and mental potentiality to do Disability means problem in physical and mental ability. A kids in classroom is sitting and watching projector if child has visual acuity problem then it's eye related impairment but same student has good eye acuity despite that have difficulty to understand the content then it's learning disabilty.again here lack of interest is different thing. Learning Disability (LD) means difficulty in aquisition of information. LD solve their problems by intuition not by logic or creatively .(Frontal lobe does problem solving) dyscalculia doesn't have number sense, mental maths, sequencing and organising & mathematical operations.Poor time management and money handling. Dyscalculia can't read calender eg if asked how many Mondays are the...
